A couple of years ago I young man I knew did a solo motorcycle journey from Oakland, CA, to Tierra del Fuego at the tip of South America. He had all kinds of adventures (and mechanical challenges) along the way, and while in Costa Rica he visited an ecological sanctuary where birds, animal, trees, and plants thrive. I began seeing fabrics with tropical designs which became the focus of this quilt, "Sanctuary." Imagine snuggling up under it on a cold night! Sanctuary, indeed!
I had a lot of enjoyment making this quilt, and can't begin to count the hours I put into it!. "Sanctuary" is machine pieced, and machine and hand quilted, made from 100% cotton fabrics and batting. It measures 72in x 90in, suitable for a twin or double bed.
